At the core of my work is a profound belief in the power of family life. I write stories about ordinary moments when something hidden comes to the surface. What my characters leave unsaid is meant to protect until it becomes it own kind of harm. Much of my fiction is set in rural Southern Illinois where I grew up.
I believe people are driven by a powerful need to be seen by others. I hope you see yourself in my work.
